One of the most beautiful Japanese prog bands, Pageant, was formed in 1981 by guitarist Ikkou Nakajima, vocalist/keyboardist Hiroko Nagai, bassist Nobuyuki Nagashima, and drummer Hideaki Indou. In 1985, Kazuhiro Miyataki (flute, guitar) joined the line-up. Their symphoric, harmonious and melodic, critics compare with Camel, Genesis and Renaissance

In '85 they appeared on a Japanese progrock compilation entilted "Progressive Battle" and one year later PAGEANT released their debut-album "La Mosaïque de la Rêverie", a 'classic'. The band was completed by Kazuhiro Miyatake (flute and electric guitar) and Nobuyuki Nagashima (bass) on those records.
