Killed in Action (KIA). 2nd Lieutenant Desmond E. Steele. His date of birth and next of kin are uncertain. He had one brother, Private Wayne A. Steele, of the 164th Infantry Regiment, who died of pneumonia at Valencia on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines, on June 16, 1945.

Career Despite achieving a record deal, it was two years before Dekker saw his first record released. Meanwhile, Dekker spotted the talent of Bob Marley, a fellow welder, and brought the youth to Kong's attention.
