Avantasia. Avantasia is a symphonic power metal project founded and led by Tobias Sammet, lead singer of German power metal band Edguy. Since 2001's debut, the fantasy-themed The Metal Opera, Sammet has enlisted a who's-who of European and American metal musicians and singers for his albums.

After several tours and chart placements with Edguy, Sammet founded his all-star project Avantasia and released a metal opera under this name. Initially planned as a once-in-a-lifetime studio project, he launched Avantasia again in 2006 and since then he regularly produced concept albums and rock operas.

Avantasia ist ein All-Star-Projekt des deutschen Metal-Sängers, Komponisten und Produzenten Tobias Sammet, der als Sänger der Metal-Band Edguy bekannt wurde. Die Band verkaufte schätzungsweise 3 Millionen Tonträger und tourt ebenfalls erfolgreich weltweit.
