More Information

Lowell Fulson was a bluesman with many hats. While I enjoy an earlier, blusy Fulson more - and his funky, soul stuff from the 1960s better, R&B Fulson from the 1950s is pretty good as well. Soulful voice and good arrangements. Good to have this much content in one place. Clearly Fulson did very well for himself as a recording artist!

Fulson's recording career started in 1946 and lasted well into the 1990s. His best known songs are Three O'Clock Blues (1948), Reconsider Baby (1954, later covered by Elvis Presley ) and Tramp (1967, and as a duet by Otis Redding & Carla Thomas ).
