Rebelstar – Take a Hit 2023 EP

Being one of the best kept secrets from the European melodic hard rock scene, is a mystery why Dutch hard rockers REBELSTAR isn’t best known or played at major festivals. Lineup changes, bad luck, wrong managers, etc – however funding members lead vocalist Serge Naberman & guitarist Martijn Niggebrugge continues with the band now solidified with lead guitarist Conrad Hultermans (ex X-Tinxion, 5150) and drummer Ciro Palma (ex Within Temptation), released a very good album this 2023 titled “The Black Widow Anthems”.
Now the band is presenting ”Take a Hit Volume 1”, the first in a series of covers EP’s. REBELSTAR remakes the classic “The (recorded by Glenn Frey for the American film Beverly Hills Cop, 1984) with their own, melodic hard rock style, but also a catchy cover of Golden Earring’s ”Buddy Joe”, Goo Goo Dolls classic ”Iris”, “I Want Candy” made popular by English new wave band Bow Wow Wow in 1982, and AC/DC’s timeless ”Highway To Hell”.
An eclectic selection of styles, all music which influenced REBELSTAR, very well done and a lot of fun!
