Despite being such a modern-minded album, Serpent's Kiss still leaves room for some old-timey dynamism and experimentation. Song structure is prone to change, and most of the load-bearing riffs feel bluesy and emotive; 'Cold Gin' in particular sounds like it's straight out of my personal favorite Motörhead album Another Perfect Day .

It's not everyday you come across a metal album that has this much class, let alone that wears it as well as Serpents Kiss, the fall of 2011 full length debut from Atkins / May Project.
