SLAUGHTER – Live From Electric Ladyland Studios ’91 [WNEW-FM private pressing]
SLAUGHTER 1990’s debut album ‘Stick It To Ya’ resulted a big success, with the band relentlessplaying live for a year and a half, touring and/or doing dates with KISS, Poison, Whitesnake – just to name a few. Chrysalis Records even released a mini-album live ‘Stick It Live’ in 1990 too, to keep the band’s momentum.
‘Stick It Live’ is a very good showcase of Slaughter live, however it’s produced & mixed with a huge post-production job to make it sound big.
This ”Live From Electric Ladyland Studios” was captured 1991 at the famous New York studio of the same name, for a WNEW-FM broadcast. Many bands were part of these series, and SLAUGHTER performed several times there. The audience mostly consisted of fan club members, and the band’s got first rate / pro gear for the performances.
You gotta listen to this SLAUGHTER / ”Live From Electric Ladyland Studios”, not only the band is on fire at the top of their game, oiled, nasty, but also the recording quality is awesome. Not post produced – just the band natural – but all sounds perfect, from the drum kick and defined bass, to the sharp guitars and the crisp vocals.
A terrific gig showcasing that SLAUGHTER wasn’t just a bunch of posers. This is a private radio pressing, not for sale.

These shows were recorded in the early '90s at Electric Ladyland Studios, a joint production between the Album Network and NYC radio station WNEW-FM. They don't seem to circulate as much as shows from Westwood One, etc. that perhaps had wider distribution.
