Scottish rockers GUN very good latest album is getting bigger and bigger. Now they are releasing a monster, 31-track extended edition of ”Hombres” – titled “Hombres [Damaged Edition]” – in conjunction with the gritty new Samuel L. Jackson blockbuster movie ‘Damaged’, which soundtrack features multiple of its tracks.

Directed by Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad, Killing Eve), action-thriller ‘Damaged’ – starring Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, The Marvels, Django Unchained) and Vincent Cassel (La Haine, Black Swan, The Three Musketeers) – follows a Chicago police detective who goes to Scotland after an emerging serial killer’s crimes match those that he investigated five years earlier, one of which was the crime scene of his murdered girlfriend. Several track from ‘Hombres’ are heard.
“Hombres [Damaged Edition]” features the Deluxe Edition studio bonus tracks, the Extended Edition bonus tracks ‘Live at the QMU’, plus more live material, the previously unreleased ‘Live at the Barrowlands’ captured last year. The cover art is different colored.

Since getting back together fifteen years ago, GUN have been threatening to release an album this strong, where the quality doesn’t let up throughout. The three preceding albums were good, but not up there to their early albums’, albeit very high, bar.
This time they have matched those levels. We dare to say “Hombres” is their best album ever, as takes the best from the band’s early LPs and adds the maturity that only comes with age.

The live recordings here are excellent, with ‘Live at the QMU’ in a ‘live into the studio’ polished fashion, while ‘Live at the Barrowlands’ being full live, on stage and full-blooded.

Gun continues with their endless 2024 Tour all over Europe, including various festivals.
‘Damaged’ has already hit screens in the USA, but European fans will have a wait a while longer, ’til it premieres on Amazon Prime next October.
