Frozen By Fire – The Quickening (2013)

The 2nd album from Las Vegas based melodic heavy metal rockers Frozen By Fire.The songs on The Quickening range from hard and fast, to mid tempo rocking songs, to powerful ballads, to some progressive influenced rockers. The songs contain great guitar riffs, with catchy sing along choruses, and memorable melodies. The guitar solos on this CD are incredible, featuring everything from full out shred, to sweep picking, to tasteful melodic solos. The vocals range from in your face hard rock wailing, to tender singing, with a few metal screams thrown in for good measure, and some nice vocal harmonies. The bass is driving and punchy, and the drums are powerful and flashy. This CD is the follow up to the 2009 album "Let the Madness Begin". Overall The Quickening is a more diverse album for the band, showing more variety and more musical intricacies than anything they have done before. The new CD features The Joblin on Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, and Bass, John Daniels on Guitars, and Brian "Frosty" Foster on Drums.
