Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin – The Murder Collection (2014)

What you have here is a solid collection of re-recordings of Goblin's best work by Claudio Simonetti's band he currently tours as "Claudio Simonetti's Goblin." While this is probably not as strong as the 2013 EP released by the reunited Goblin to coincide with their American tour, this album exhibits excellent musicianship and more than a few crafty twists on familiar tracks.

I especially appreciated the take on "LAlba Dei Morti Viventi" here, as it is darker and heavier than the original. The re-working of "Demon" is also a standout, and works much better as a full band piece than the original electronic recording.
