Hear 'n Aid was a one-time collaboration of various individual heavy metal/hard rock artists in 1985 to raise money for famine relief in Africa. According to Ronnie James Dio's MySpace profile, the project raised $1 million within a year.

On May 20 and 21, 1985, 40 artists from the hard rock music community gathered at A&M Records Studios to participate in the making of a record called "Stars" as part of a very special project known as Hear'N Aid.

Stars ist der Name eines 1985 von Jimmy Bain, Vivian Campbell und Ronnie James Dio geschriebenen Liedes. Es entstand für das Projekt Hear 'n Aid, das zum Ziel hatte, nach dem Vorbild des Band-Aid-Projektes um Bob Geldof , ein vergleichbares Musikprojekt in der Metal-Szene zu etablieren, um für die Opfer der Hungersnot in Äthiopien 1984 ...
