In 1979, Montrose formed Gamma with vocalist Davey Pattison at the recommendation of fellow Scotsman James Dewar bassist/vocalist for Robin Trower. Jim Alcivar appeared on his fourth Ronnie Montrose project in a row and bassist Alan Fitzgerald returned as well with drummer Skip Gillette.
