Taproban – Per Aspera Ad Astra (2017)
The group was founded in Rome in 1996 by keyboards player Gianluca De Rossi and gets its name from Taprobana, the ancient denomination of Ceylon Island (Sri-Lanka), where Tommaso Campanella set the narration of his book "The City of the Sun". The group takes its inspiration by Symphonic Progressive Rock of the Seventies, which most representative groups were Genesis, Yes, Gentle Giant and King Crimson. However, in absence of an electric guitar player, with the consequent prominence of the keyboards, their triangle line-up remind to Emerson Lake & Palmer and other similar bands like Le Orme, UK and Triumvirat.
