The Sweet. The nucleus of The Sweet came together in 1966, when drummer Michael Thomas Tucker (b. 17 July 1947, Harlesden, London, England) and vocalist Brian Francis Connolly (b. 5 October 1945, Hamilton, Scotland) played together in Wainwright's Gentlemen, a band whose repertoire comprised a mixture of Motown, R&B and psychedelia.

Was die genauen Gründe für die Neueinspielung der alten SWEET-Klassiker von BRIAN CONNOLLY waren, kann ich zwar nicht nachvollziehen, im Grunde ist das aber auch egal. Da CONNOLLY bereits 1997 gestorben ist, kann man getrost davon ausgehen, dass es sich hier um bereits veröffentlichte Aufnahmen handelt und ein Blick in den Backkatalog ...

Parallel war und ist ex-Kollege Andy Scott mit veränderter Besetzung als ANDY SCOTT´S SWEET aktiv. Da er keine Rechte an den Originalsongs hatte, war CONNOLLY gezwungen, die alten Hits neu einzuspielen. Und das präsentiert man uns nach zahllosen Best Of von beiden THE SWEET-Bands auf Let´s Do It Again (All The Hits And More).
