David Vest – East Meets Vest (2012)
He was raised in Alabama and in juke joints all along the Gulf Coast. He played with Big Joe Turner in the early 1960s and toured with Jimmy T99 Nelson and Floyd Dixon. He was co-leader of the legendary Paul deLay Band. Shortly after he moved north of the 49th parallel, Vest entered the western Canadian blues scene with incendiary performances at the Edmonton and Calgary blues festivals. His first venture into a Canadian studio helped Victoria's Bill Johnson land a Juno nomination for Still Blue.
