The album's celestial grace, such a positive boon in early 1976, was much less so in the years that immediately followed, and Olias fell somewhat off the radar. Adored by those who knew, it didn't retain the staying power of the era's other (largely) self-played masterpiece, Tubular Bells .
Olias, the title character, is the chosen architect of the glider Moorglade, which will be used to fly his people to their new home. Ranyart is the navigator for the glider, and Qoquaq is the leader who unites the four tribes of Sunhillow to partake in the exodus. Versions Filter by Labels & Companies 63 versions Add to Wantlist
Jon Anderson is most well-known for his work with the legendary band Yes, writing and performing all-time classic progressive rock songs of the '70s. However, strangely, it may well be that his most unique creation is his inimitable debut solo album Olias of Sunhillow in 1976.
