TAPPER & BRIDGE – We Are The Sharks (2022) EP

TAPPER & BRIDGE was formed by experienced British vocalist / drummer Darran Bridge (ex Java) who has an extensive background in the UK rock scene since the 80s, together with young guitarist named Lee Tapper.

TAPPER & BRIDGE music is pure 80’s inspired melodic rock, the type of post-NWOBHM melodic groove (second half of the Eighties) that instantly takes you right back to the AOR era of bands like Shy and Tobruk. While working on a full album, group have been releasing some singles and now just created the hymn ”We Are The Sharks”, for professional rugby union club Sale Sharks, from Greater Manchester, which plays every time the team enters the field. Of course it’s an ‘action-movie’ tune with that ’80s epic AOR pulse.
Now TAPPER & BRIDGE are releasing the song plus the previously recorded now revised / re-mastered.

The pick of the bunch might be the mid-paced AOR tune “Never Let You Down” with its lovely guitar solo or it could be the energetic riffing and soloing of “You Keep Me Hanging” – both very catchy numbers.
There’s also a shimmering midtempo track “That’s All I Can Be” in the pure late ’80s British melodic rock style, and the rocking, layered “You Take Me Higher”.
If you love second half of the ’80s UK AOR / Melodic Rock you need to check out these guys pronto.
